About Owner:
Our property is a historical railway hotel built in the late 1890's which we are renovating. We live in four rooms in the northern ground floor wing, have a self contained BnB 2 bedroom apartment on the upper floor in the same wing, a function room and gallery on the ground floor of the southern wing and 9 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms on the first floor of that same wing.
We are about a 7 minute drive from the historic village of Oatlands. We envisage our housesitter/s occupying our BnB for the duration, with access to our kitchen, lounge, laundry and wetroom downstairs as well.
We would like to go away from time to time for a couple of weeks and are looking for a housesitter/s during that time to look after our property and animals.
We have two small dogs, one gentle cat, one cockateal with a personality, 2 adorable ducks, 3 hand reared sheep and 4 chickens.
You would need to:
- feed the dogs, cat and cockateal twice daily
- play with the dogs and empty the cat litter tray daily
- feed the chickens, ducks daily, and check that the sheep are Ok and have water
Otherwise in winter there is not much else to do.
Needless to say, you must love animals.
It gets a bit cold here but we have wood available to use for the woodstove in the kitchen and wood fire in the lounge. Upstairs in the apartment, there is electric heating.
My husband runs the BnB and maintains the property and I work part time as a psychologist from home.
We will also need a current Police clearance and references.
