Travelling Retirees

About Sitter:

John and I retired to the Sunshine Coast in 2012 from Lauderdale in Tasmania, to be near our adult daughter and young grandson. Sadly she passed away in December 2017 leaving Kai who was 3 years old at the time. He has since gone to live with his Dad. We ran our own landscape and garden maintenance business, Evergro Garden Service, for 20 years and passed it on to our son, who still runs it today. Our gardens at Lauderdale won most categories including Grand Champion in the 1988 Clarence Garden Competition and Peter Cundall filmed 3 episodes of Landscape (the precursor to Gardening Australia) at our home. I worked for the Tasmanian Government for 25 years as an Executive Assistant in the Department of (now State Growth) Economic Development until retiring in June 2010.
We are non smokers and have had lots of experience with animals, including cats, dogs, chooks, horses, cows, rabbits, goldfish, guinea pigs and mice. We have always had a Cocker Spaniel but our last one passed away in 2017 at 15 years old so we decided not to get another so that we can travel without having to worry about the dog. I have included photos of our beautiful garden in Buderim and you will notice that we feed the local lorikeet population and we also have a family of magpies who demand to be fed every day. We are happy to keep your garden tidy and watered and John will also mow the lawns should they need it.
